Ursula Genaehr
Date: 21 Jun 2017 @ 04:21Categories: Latest NewsWe are terribly saddened by the awful news that Ursula Genaehr has died. She was a fixture in the oboe section of Davis for - well, nobody can remember quite how long - and she sent many, many of her students to Border.
Her students were all meticulously prepared because Ursula was a great teacher: she believed that teaching was a calling of the utmost importance, and she refused to accept sloppy standards from her students or from herself. And her students were all alive with music, because Ursula was alive with music herself. She was playing right up to her last days. She thought of music as a holy thing, a sacred thing, and was absolutely uncompromising about this. Would there were more who believed the same! She leaves the world a better place but it is a sadder place today for her having left it.
